Children's Programs

Join the Children's Department staff as we celebrate Clifford the Big Red Dog's 50th birthday. This picture book classic was first written and published in 1963 by Norman Bridwell. There are now over 100 Clifford titles with 126 million books in print. Participants will have fun with stories, activities, crafts, food and prizes. Bring your camera - Clifford will make a grand appearance! This second session is for younger children ages 3-7. Limit of 30. Registration is required. Wee Read, a program offered by Rodman Library’s Children’s Department, is designed to introduce children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills. Patrons, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to Wee Read, Monday evenings, July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings, July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, from 10:30-11:00 a.m.

A children's program on North American dinosaurs will be presented by Lynnette Reiner, Science Director at the Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum Discover World on Wednesday, June 19th from 2-3 pm. Examine the dinosaurs that once lived in America. Learn about archaeological sites of interest and all the new technologies and theories of these great beasts of the past. For ages 7-12. No advance registration required. (jm)

Build with Legos at Rodman Public Library when the Children’s Department hosts Lego Splash!

 The program will take place from 2:00-3:30pm

We provide the Lego and Duplo bricks, you provide the creations! The program is open to all ages. No registration is required.
