Spooky Science at Beech Creek Botanical Garden

Staff from the Rodman Children's Department will be doing storytelling from 6:30-8:30pm as part of the "Spooky Science" program at the Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve. This four-night event is October 19, 20 & 26,27 from 4:00-9:00pm.  Admission is $5 per person. $4 for members. 0-2years: Free. Auditorium - Diabetes Self-Care

Rodman Public Library will host a Diabetes Management program to be held on Monday, January 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the main auditorium. Connie Altomare, MLIS, MA, RN, CDE, from Alliance Community Hospital will be presenting “Diabetes Management in the New Year: Tips for Better Control”.

The film series will revolve around a Christmas theme. So, if you are reminiscing about Christmases past and dreaming of a white, snowy holiday, then join us at Rodman for a wonderful time.

Movies shown on December 3 and 17 are not rated. The movie shown on December 10 is rated PG.

Auditorium - Parenting With a Purpose

Diana Boggia, M. Ed., author and syndicated columnist of the Canton Repository’s “Family Matters” will discuss how to bring out the best in your child on Monday, November 12, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Rodman Library. Boggia, who has a background in behavior management and a Masters Degree in Education and Developmental Disabilities, has worked with families for more than 20 years to eliminate unwanted behaviors in children and minimize family chaos.

Adults, do you enjoy playing video games? Eager to try out the Xbox 360 with Kinect, Nintendo Wii, WiiU and Playstation 3? Want to show your skills at sports, dancing and other games?

 On Tuesday, February 26, at 5:30 p.m., adults are invited to Rodman Public Library to play Xbox 360 with Kinect. Visitors will have the opportunity to play a different game each week. Games with ratings from “E” for Everyone, up to “M” for Mature, will be offered. Also available to play will be the following board/card games: Scrabble, Yatzee, Uno and Apples-to-Apples.

Auditorium - SARTA Travel Training

SARTA will present a Travel Training Session at Rodman Main Library on Tuesday, December 11, from 11 a.m. to noon. Whether you're concerned with easing the strain on our environment or the strain on your wallet, Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) is something to consider.

SARTA's Travel Trainers will talk about our public transportation system, how to use it and how to plan trips. A 31-day bus pass is available the first time you attend a Travel Training Session. A picture ID must be presented to receive a pass.
