WEE READ

Wee Read, a program offered by Rodman Library’s Children’s Department, is designed to introduce children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills. Patrons, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to Wee Read, Monday evenings, August 5, 19, and 26, from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings, August 7, 21 and 28, from 10:30-11:00 a.m. There will be no Wee Read on Monday, August 12, and Wednesday, August14, due to the Friends of Rodman Library used book sale.

When dinosaurs ruled America

Lynnette Reiner, Science Director at the Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum, will give a program on dinosaurs on Wednesday, June 19, from 2-3 p.m., in Rodman Library Children’s Program Room for children, ages 7-12. Using a PowerPoint presentation, she will examine the dinosaurs that once lived in America. Children will see sample footprints made from paper and rugs that show the size of the dinosaur feet, be able look at books on dinosaurs and extinction, learn about archaeological sites of interest and the new technologies and theories of these great beasts.

Bigfoot

Marc DeWerth of Columbia Station, Ohio, has been a longtime Bigfoot investigator with close to 20 years of experience. He’s investigated over 150 reports from all over Ohio and is fully convinced that Bigfoot resides in the Buckeye state. On Saturday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the main auditorium of Rodman Library, he will share information on the most recent sighting reports as well as show a video of a possible Sasquatch. This is a family friendly lecture, so children are welcome.
