Minecraft Build Off

A Minecraft Build Off for teens will be offered over three days, Tuesday, June 13, through Thursday, June 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. Teens will work in teams for the entire event. On the first two days, teens will build up their resources and create their own bases. During the last day of the Build Off, the battles will commence with two teams invading each other’s forts. The battle day will be separated into games of capture the flag, along with an ending battle. The program is free and no registration is needed.

May the 4th Be with You

Teens, ages 12-18, are invited for an afternoon of Star War games, crafts, snacks, and fun as we celebrate National Star Wars Day in Rodman Main Auditorium on Thursday, May 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. Play the “Storm Trooper Balloon Pop” game where competing teams run end-to-end in the room, popping balloons in various ways. Or try the “Saving Han Solo from Carbonite” game as teams try to free a Han Solo figure from a block of ice using squirt guns.

Friends of Rodman Library Biennial Meeting

The Friends of Rodman Public Library will be holding their biennial meeting on Saturday, April 8, at 1:00 p.m., in Library’s Auditorium. The meeting will consist of the electing of officers, voting on revising the bylaws of the Friends of the Library, and giving committee reports. All Friends members are encouraged to attend for their vote. A door prize will be given away at the close of the meeting and refreshments will be offered.

Your Historic Home: Alliance’s First Housing Boom—A Thousand Homes

Levi LambornElisha TeetersThe Alliance Area Preservation Society (AAPS) presents Your Historic Home: Alliance’s First Housing Boom—A Thousand Homes, the first public program in this year’s Your Historic Home project, on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Rodman Public Library Auditorium.

Robb Hyde, AAPS President, will talk about the home sites laid out by Elisha Teeters and Levi Lamborn after the Civil War. Nine hundred and ninety lots were created between Union Ave. on the west, Mahoning on the east, Broadway on the north, and Milner on the south....the heart of Alliance and its 19th Century boom years.
