Alliance native chocolatier, Sharron Springer, will be showing teens, ages 12-18, how to make cool chocolate treats. The program will take place on Thurs., Mar. 28, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., at Rodman Main Library auditorium. Teens who attend will get to use melted chocolate and molds to make their own sweet creations. The Alliance Historical Society will present a program at Rodman Public Library, Monday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m., on the large military guns that were manufactured in Alliance in the late 1800s and early years of the 20th century. Don Shaffer will discuss the history of the manufacture of military machinery for the U.S. Government by Morgan Engineering. Shaffer and his son Chris have compiled a large collection of photographs which will be used during the presentation.
Dan Skivolocke, owner of Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, will present a history of funerals and funeral traditions from the U.S. and around the world that will include visuals. Sponsored by the Alliance Historical Society, the program will take place on Tuesday, October 1, at 7:00 p.m. in Rodman Public Library’s main auditorium. The program is free and open to the public. Dan Skivolocke, owner of Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, will return to Rodman Library to continue his pictorial history of Alliance with the second 50 years titled "Alliance Yesterday, 1900-1950" on Wednesday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m., in Rodman Public Library’s main auditorium. Skivolocke began 21 years ago writing a weekly article for the Alliance Review called "We Were There" that eventually gave way to "Alliance Yesterday", a program about Alliance history he began presenting around 1992, with the help of the Alliance Historical Society.

The tournament will be held on Thurs., March 14, and will begin promptly at 3:15 p.m. in Rodman’s Main Auditorium. This will be a one-on-one, single elimination tournament played on the xBox 360. Random, current and NBA teams will be selected. Bumping up player stats and using created players will be prohibited. All players who foul out are not allowed to be subbed back in.
All teens, ages 13-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library on Tuesday, March 26, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. A full length Anime movie will be the feature for March. Discussion of the characters and comparison of Anime versions vs. Manga versions will follow. Teens who attend will be able to decide what gets shown from month to month.
