Chef Stephan Baity returns! You have seen him on the “Cake Wars: Christmas” when he and his team won the grand prize for the cake-decorating challenges. Baity, resident director of AVI Food Systems at the University of Mount Union, will present a program on Healthy Cooking at Rodman Library on Monday, June 27, at 7 p.m., in the main auditorium.
Nationally known accordion player and children’s polka musician Mike Schneider (a.k.a. Uncle Mike) from Milwaukee, WI, will be performing his Pint Size Polkas after hours on Friday, July 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium as part of the 2016 Summer Reading Program.
Teens, ages 12-18 – We Want You! Help us decide what kind of programs we will have for our teen patrons. Those teens interested in having their voices heard, come to Rodman Library’s Auditorium. The Teen Advisory will meet on the fourth Monday this month to help decide teen programming at the Library. The next meeting is Monday, Jan. 23, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.This is a great opportunity for teens looking to do community service. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 214.
Let the Games Begin: A Celebration of Sport and Story
Children of all ages are invited to an animated Drive-in Movie on Saturday, June 18, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., in Rodman Auditorium. Visit a thriving mammal metropolis where animals from every environment live together and have a profession. When the police force hires its first rabbit officer, she learns that being the new bunny in a department of really tough animals is anything but easy. She jumps at the chance to solve a case to prove she is capable at her job, even though she has to work with a cunning fox who makes things harder.
Join us at Rodman Public Library every Thursday, June 9 through July 28, from noon to 1:00 p.m. For children, ages 3 and up, and their families, Book F.E.A.S.T. replaces Storytime at the Main Library. Staff will share books on the 2016 Summer Reading Program theme “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read”. For every five books checked out, the child’s name will be entered into a weekly drawing to win prizes during the Thursday program.
