Poetry Reading

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of poetry reading on Saturday, April 29, from 2:30 to 5 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. Four Ohio poets will read from their published works and at the conclusion of all reading will invite attendees to ask questions. The poets participating in this event include John Buroughs, Diane Kendig, Robert Miltner, and Melanie Murphy.

Friends of the Library Authors and Artisans Day

On Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., meet Ohio authors and local artisans and browse through their books and handmade crafts. Ohio authors will be signing and selling their books in the Library’s Main Auditorium. Book categories include children’s books, local history, mystery, teen fiction, and sports. Authors in attendance will be Gloria Adams, Karen Biery, Carolyn Caskey, Nancy Christie, Hugh Earnhart, Sandra Gurvis, Will Hillenbrand, Don King, Jonathan Knight, Lana Wayne Koehler, Wendy Koile, Irv Korman, Matt Lupica, Marlene C.

Sam Allen-"Fire and Ice"

Author and historian Sam Allen will present a riveting one-man show on the complex and troubled life of the poet, Robert Frost, on Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. Throughout a long and productive life, Frost (1874-1963) battled hostile critics and publishers, endured long periods of doubt and depression, and suffered innumerable family tragedies. Poetry carried him through those dark times, and he produced some of the most compelling and beautiful lyrics in the English language.

Children's Christmas Program

The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will be hosting a Jingle Bell Christmas Program on Saturday, December 17, at 2:00 p.m. One of Santa’s favorite elves, Ellie Elf, arrives straight from the North Pole to spread Christmas cheer and makes sure everyone is nice and not naughty. Ellie Elf will entertain with stories, music and magical fun for all!

Ornament decorating

Teens, ages 13-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library to decorate holiday ornaments for gift giving or for hanging on the family tree. A representative from Hot Pots Pottery will help teens design and personalize clay bisque ornaments. This holiday program will be held on Thursday, December 15, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., in the main auditorium.
