Crochet class for beginners is being hosted at Rodman Library. Classes will take place on Wednesday evening beginning September 3 and continue through October 8, 2014. Taught by Jane Graham, a member of the KnitWits Needlework Circle, participants will begin by learning how to crochet a dishcloth. Those attending will need to bring a size G or H crochet hook and one skein of Peaches and Cream Yarn in the color of their choice.

Doing Historic Preservation in Alliance

Un-Valentine's Day Party

Teens, are you tired of all the lovie-dovie Valentine’s Day mush? Yes? Join us on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. as we celebrate Un-Valentine’s Day in the main library’s auditorium. Do black roses, chocolate hearts and cookies with an Un-Valentine’s message sound good? If so, you’ll enjoy crafting roses from black duct tape, molding your own black chocolate heart suckers and decorating heart-shaped sugar cookies with a message.

Teen Movie

All teens, ages 13-18, are invited to see a free movie on RPL’s big screen in the auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m. Humankind is now living on another planet after being forced to escape from Earth. During an asteroid storm a general’s spacecraft has crashed into what is now an inhospitable Earth and his 13 year-old son, who is traveling with him, must cross this ground alone to recover their rescue beacon.
