Teens, for intense one-on-one, head-to-head competition, join us on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 3:00-5:00 p.m., in Rodman’s Main Auditorium for an exciting afternoon with Madden 15 that will be played on an Xbox gaming system with the game setting on Pro. The tournament will consist of single elimination, three minute quarters and random teams, excluding All-Star teams and Throwbacks. Prizes will be awarded to the top two finalists.
The Alliance Historical Society will hold its annual membership meeting and will highlight activities and projects from the past year, including two Eagle Scout projects and the 75th Anniversary celebration. A volunteer of the year will be recognized and plans for the next year will be discussed. -klp
In August 2004, the Alliance Memory website was dedicated. It was a joint project between the historical organizations in the City of Alliance and Rodman Public Library, overseen by Karen Perone. Karen will present an overview of the project and the people involved with making this online scrapbook a reality showing examples of the 3,000 items that are included and what the future looks like for the continuation and expansion of this community treasure. -klp
A meeting to bring together Alliance Historical Society members and interested parties in how to volunteer and get involved in the work of the Society to research, preserve, and perpetuate the history of Alliance. -klp
A crochet class for beginners hosted at Rodman Library starts Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the main auditorium. Taught by Jane Graham, a member of the KnitWits Needlework Circle, the classes will meet Wednesdays, Sept. 10, 17 and 24 and Oct. 1 & 8. Participants will learn how to crochet a dishcloth. Those attending will need to bring a size G or H crochet hook and one skein of Peaches and Cream Yarn in the color of their choice.
