Wee Read, a program offered through the Children’s Department, is designed to introduce children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills. Patrons, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to Wee Read, Monday evenings at the main library from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings at the main and branch libraries, from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Sessions last 20-30 minutes. No registration is required. Come as often as you like. There will be no Wee Read at the Main Library on August 3rd and 10th due to the Used Book Sale.

The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will be hosting a Children’s Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. This event will include Halloween games, stories, riddles, music, dancing, treats... and more. Be sure to bring your camera to take a picture of your little ones in front of our fall backdrop. The program is open to children, ages 3-12, accompanied by an adult. Children can use their imagination and build with Legos at Rodman Public Library when the Lego Splash returns to the Children’s Department on the second Saturday of each month. Beginning on Saturday, September 10, the program will take place from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Children’s Program Room. We provide the Lego and Duplo bricks, you provide the creations! The program is open to children of all ages. No registration is required.

Rodman Public Library offers children the chance to try their reading skills on local therapy dogs on the third Saturday of the month from 2:00-4:00 p.m. These specially trained dogs will “listen” to stories in the Children’s Program Room at the Main Library.
