SPARK (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids) meeting.

SPARK SUPPORTING PARTNERSHIPS TO ASSURE READY KIDS™ is a family-focused intervention program that prepares children for kindergarten. Although the initial investment in SPARK was made by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation in partnership with the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton, multiple funders now support SPARK sites in six Ohio counties.

Urban Camo

In celebration of the new release, Call of Duty: Ghosts video game, teens will be able to make their own camo ghillie suit head piece. A ghillie suit is used to conceal oneself in the surrounding environment. The technique of creating “urban camo” will be demonstrated by local hunter Jim Bixler. All material will be provided to begin each project. Participants will leave with the beginning of their own head piece, as well as the information on how to finish the piece. This one-of-a-kind event takes place on Tuesday, Nov.

Regina Coeli tour

Children's Halloween Party

The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will be hosting a Children’s Halloween Party on Saturday, October 26, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Lots of fun stories, activities and games will be set up throughout the Children’s Department and auditorium. Children will also collect treats to take home.

No reservations are required and the program is open to children ages 3-12 with an adult. Halloween costumes are optional but encouraged. For more information, call the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Girl's Book Club

Girls, ages 9-11, are invited to the Children’s Department at the main library on the third Wednesday of each month for a book discussion, games and other activities. Children must be able to read on a 4/5 grade reading level. The book to be discussed is Ida B and Her Plans to Maximize Fun, Avoid Disaster, and (Possibly) Save the World, by Barbara O’Connor. Boy's Book Club

Children must be able to read on a 4/5 grade reading level. The book to be discussed is Tiger Rising, by Kate DiCamillo. Registration is required and limited to 10 students. Meetings will be held the second Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m., February and March 2014. Meetings will include book discussion, games and other activities. Children must be able to read on a 4/5 grade reading level. The book to be discussed on February 12 is The Chocolate Touch, by Patrick Catling. Registration is required and limited to 10 students.
