Children's Program Room
The Children’s Department will host Lapsit during the month of December. Patrons ages 2 & 3 years old are invited to Lapsit Monday evenings, Dec. 3, 10, and 17, from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings, Dec. 5, 12, and 19, from 10:30-11:00 a.m. There will be NO LAPSIT on Mon., Dec. 24, Wed., Dec. 26 or Mon., Dec. 31. Topics will include: Christmas Trees, Toys, Santa and Reindeer.

The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will host Storytime for 4-6 year olds in December. Patrons may attend Storytime on Tuesday evenings, Dec. 4, 11 and 18, from 6:30-7:15 p.m. or Thursday mornings, Dec. 6, 13 and 20, from 10:30 -11:15 a.m. There will be no Storytime on Dec. 25 and Dec. 27. Topics will include: Warm Up with Books, Toys and Cookies.
The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will host Storytime for 4-6 year olds in December. Patrons may attend Storytime on Tuesday evenings on December 4, 11 and 18 or Thursday mornings on December 6, 13 and 20. There will be no storytime on December 25 or 27.

The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will be hosting a Jingle Bell Christmas Program on Saturday, December 8, at 1:00 p.m. One of Santa’s favorite elves, Ellie Elf, arrives straight from the North Pole to spread Christmas cheer and makes sure everyone is nice and not naughty. Ellie Elf will entertain with stories, music and magical fun for all!
Rodman Public Library offers children the chance to try their reading skills on local therapy dogs on Saturday, May 18. Therapy dogs such as “Bear”, the cute five-pound bundle of Chihuahua joy owned by Ruth DeFranco, will “listen” to stories in the Children’s Program Room at the Main Library.
The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will be hosting a Children’s Halloween Party on Saturday, October 27, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Lots of fun activities, games and stories will be set up throughout the Children’s Department and auditorium. Children will also collect treats to take home.
No reservations are required and the program is open to children ages 3-12 with an adult. Halloween costumes are optional but encouraged. For more information, call the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 224.
Rodman Public Library hosts a monthly support group for the caregivers of adults experiencing challenges such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. The next meeting will be Thursday, July 31, from 2-4 p.m. Caregivers have the opportunity to share with each other the challenges they are meeting, plus ideas and any suggestions and information of assistance that may help others in the group.
Boys, ages 9-11, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the “Just for Boys” Book Club being offered. Meetings will be held the second Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m., November 2012 through April 2013 (no book club in December). Children must be able to read on a 4/5 grade reading level.
