Children ages 5-8 and 9-13 can sign up to explore the world of Claude Monet on Saturday, July 11th in the Children’s Program Room. The class for ages 5-8 will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and for ages 9-13 from 2:30-4:00 p.m. French Impressionist artist Claude Monet, (1840-1926), is known for his beautiful nature and water scenes. Children will recreate art based on one of his famous paintings, “Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies” using watercolor paper, finger-paint and masking tape.  Advanced registration is required.

William Powell and Clearview Golf Course

Renee Powell, LPGA member, Clearview's Head Golf Professional and teacher, and daughter of William “Bill” Powell, will talk about her father and his historic Clearview Golf Course in East Canton on Tuesday, July 28, from 10 to 10:45 a.m., in the Children’s Program Room. Bill Powell decided to build his own golf course—for people of all colors—after he experienced racial discrimination on the golf course upon his return home from the military in World War II.
