There's an App for that!: Playing with Fire

Watch, listen, and learn about some of the must have apps for the Kindle Fire HDX. We will be discussing how to download ebooks, audiobooks, and more. You are encouraged to bring your charged Kindle and sign-on information to follow along. Basic device knowledge is recommended for this session. The sessions will be given at the main library on Monday, July 7, 6:30-7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, July 9, from 10:00-11:00 a.m.; the branch library on Tuesday, July 8, 2:00-3:00 p.m. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 214.

Intro to Windows 8

Are you struggling to find where things are on the new Windows 8 interface? In Intro to Windows 8 we will be covering the basics to get you up and running on your new Windows 8 PC.  We will demonstrate how to navigate through this new interface to find many of the common desktop components you are used to on a Windows computer and show you how you can customize this new app. based system to fit your interests-- plus a whole lot more!

Arm Knitting

How would you like to do something that’s fun and different? Madison Gasparik, a middle school student, is going to demonstrate how to “Arm Knit” a scarf from very thick yarn just by using your fingers and arms. This class will be on Monday, April 28, at 6:00 p.m., at the Branch Library located in the Marketplace Plaza. The types of yarn to bring to this class are “Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick” or “Loops and Threads Charisma Yarn” in your choice of colors. This is an event you won’t want to miss.

Spanish Storytime

Children, ages 5-11, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for Spanish Storytime on Thursday, May 22, at 4:30 p.m. with Paula Andreani, former Spanish teacher, who will be leading this story hour. Children and their accompanying adult will enjoy hearing stories and music, making crafts, and playing games all in Spanish. This program is open to Spanish speakers and those who are interested in the Spanish language. No registration is needed. For more information, call the Branch at 330-821-1313.

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for a Caterpillar Story Hour on Wednesday, Apr. 23, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Apr. 26, at 11:00 a.m. A story will be read first at the library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to create a ceramic caterpillar figurine. A $10.00 fee will be collected for supplies on the day of the program that will be payable to Hot Pots. Snacks will be offered. Registration is required for this event and can be made by stopping in at the Branch or calling 330-821-1313.
